Even in a life without a lack, strive to fulfill your duties as a human being.
Growing up in a wealthy household and living a life without any lacks often leads to self-indulgence and loss of ambition. However, being born a human is not meant for indulgence. Each person has a mission, a role, and learning challenges to fulfill. Regardless of the circumstances, one should recognize them as opportunities for learning, not forget one’s duties as a human being, and strive for improvement.

A storm in the house, but tree branches are densely and vigorously
growing outside.
Siblings are deeply connected companions in learning. However, despite this closeness, sibling relationships can often become strained and adversarial. Parents do not wish for such relationships. Siblings are branches born from the same family tree, and it is their role to support each other and protect the family from the storms of life. Yet, it’s disheartening to see siblings who forget this and refuse to help each other.

Have a heart full of joy and abundance,
no matter what happens in the world.
Our ancient ancestors lived harmoniously with nature, always living generously, brightly, and joyfully. Living in modern times, even in times of hardship, we should never lose hope and should strive to maintain the same generous, bright, sincere, spacious, and rich heart as our ancestors.

Focus on self-care every day instead of relying on medicine after falling ill.
People often seek various medicines only after falling ill, but wouldn’t it be more effective to take care of our bodies and strive to maintain our health when we are still healthy? There are countless ways to keep our minds and bodies healthy. It’s truly frustrating to see many people neglecting this and walking the path of illness.

Even if the elderly rely on a cane to walk,
I hope they live to be a thousand years old.
Elderly people are often marginalized in society. However, while they may no longer be useful now, they are the ones who have loved their homeland, loved their children, and continued to preserve culture and tradition. We were born into the country they have protected and nurtured, grew up enveloped in their love, and continue to learn from them. We cannot help but wish for them to live long and healthy lives, even if they need to lean on a cane.

The heart of an infant who does not know how to show him/her better
is pure.
The heart of an infant is pure. They are not afraid of being scolded or offending anyone when they speak their minds. They do not embellish their words or use indirect expressions but speak exactly what they think and feel. Their emotionless, selfless expressions are straight to the point and often take one’s breath away. I hope they keep the innocence and beauty of their young hearts forever.

The joy of flowers peeping out of the pond can float on the water
even after they have fallen.
Cherry blossom festivities are held here and there. Flowers prepare themselves in winter and bloom beautifully in spring to delight people’s hearts. The life of flowers is short, and even when they have just bloomed, the heartless wind scatters them. However, the petals that fall from the branches overhanging the pond float on the surface of the water, creating a new scenic beauty that keeps the viewer’s eye on the flowers. Nature offers us a variety of pleasures in an unassuming way.

Fireflies hide in the shadow of the reeds,
giving way to the moon on the surface of the pond.
Fireflies fly over a pond. Following them with my eyes, I see the reflection of the beautiful moon on the surface of the water. The fireflies sit on the reed leaves and start to glow all at once. The contrast between the moonlight and the light of the fireflies was beautiful. After watching them for a while, the fireflies disappeared. I noticed that the fireflies moved quietly into the shadows of the reeds, as if they had surrendered the still surface of the water to the moon. It felt graceful.

Even a brilliant jewel without a single flaw will lose its luster
due to dust (Jewel).
Even if you have a beautiful, shining jewel without a single flaw, if you do not constantly polish and care for it, the slightest speck of dust will ruin its luster. In the same way, a person’s mind needs to be constantly polished to keep it beautiful and pure.

Children, instead of trying to advance faster than others,
do not neglect the path of learning.
It is enrollment day. Everyone stands at the starting point with determination in their hearts. It is encouraging to see their ambition to advance as quickly as possible. However, if we only think about getting ahead of others, there are unexpected pitfalls waiting for us. Taking pleasure in other people’s misfortune or arrogance can cause us to lose important things. The thought of being so far ahead of others can lead to laziness. Steady progress is more important than fast progress.
