The moon on an autumn night has been loved by many people and praised in poems. The beautiful moon has not changed, but the people who look at it are not the same. My friends with whom I used to enjoy the moon have completed their life’s lessons, and one by one they have left before I knew it. I wonder if I am making progress in my own learning. The harvest moon reminds me again of the importance of today and the day ahead.
2.
Vast and clear morning blue sky, wish my heart was as clear as it is.
As I stand by the fresh green field and look at the infinite clear sky, I wish I could take this vastness into my heart as it is. If I could do that, my mind would not be caught up in the daily distractions of life, and all my worries and troubles would naturally disappear, leaving me with a broad and clear mind.
3.
Words shine in the cloudless mind.
Some people speak with great eloquence and fluency, while others speak in a simple, direct way. Neither is superior to the other, it is all a matter of personality, but the truth of each person’s mind naturally appears in the way he speaks, for words are like jewels that reflect the heart. If the heart is cloudy, the jewels will be cloudy, and if the heart is bright and shining, the jewels will shine brightly.
4.
A single breeze can blow away beautifully colored maple leaves.
Through the work of nature, the leaves of the trees repeatedly turn red, weaving a magnificent brocade of autumn colors. The maple leaves that have turned red are easily scattered by a single strong wind. This is the order of nature, and no one can stop it. Human life is the same. It is important to live each moment to the fullest so that we will have no regrets when it is over.
5.
Look at the stone hollowed out by the raindrops and know that nothing is as difficult as it seems.
Rainwater drips from the roof onto the stone. It does not seem to cause any change, but over time a hollow is formed in the stone. This is what the ancients called “raindrops piercing the stone,” which teaches us that no matter how difficult it may seem, we can always achieve it if we keep trying and never forget our original intention. We should not give up easily because we think everything looks too difficult or impossible.
6.
When suffering and anguish persist, it is easy to get angry at one’s own bad luck or to blame others. But is it really other people’s fault or bad luck? When we look back, we realize that it was the result of our own choices. When we realize that it was our own responsibility and that we brought it on ourselves, we will not hold grudges or blame anyone, but we will learn to improve.
7.
Try not to make mistakes, but do not worry too much.
Regardless of circumstances, we are told to be careful when making decisions and to be very careful at all times. However, being too cautious can mean missing a good opportunity. When caution turns into fear, we often make bad decisions. Although prudence is important, if we find a perfect opportunity, we must make a bold decision with discretion.
8.
A true friend has the heart to point out your mistakes.
When things are going well, we have many friends. But when things go against us, we lose one or two, and most of them are no longer on our side. Friends who are good only in good times are not true friends. A true friend is a person who is usually indifferent to others but never changes his attitude, who corrects each other when we make bad choices, and who helps each other when we are in trouble.
9.
In a turbulent world, keep your mind stable, like a pine tree rooted in a rock.
The human world is like sailing through a storm, and there are few calm days without wind and waves. However, we should keep our minds stable. No matter what the circumstances, we should live each day firmly without losing sight of our goal, like a pine tree with its roots planted in a rock.
10.
Rough ocean waves suddenly calm down, just like the unpredictable human world.
The ocean has rough and calm days, and it never remains the same. This is its natural state. The human world is also never at rest, and it is normal for it to be constantly changing. If we can understand that we live and learn in such a place, we won’t be disturbed by any circumstances.
